Prêt Track privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-10-20
Prêt Track keeps track of what you lent, what you borrowed and what you own. It is made by Tekartik. This page says what the app stores, where, and why. Prêt Track has no advertising and no analytics.
What you need to use it
No account is needed. On first use the app signs you in anonymously: Firebase Authentication gives your device an identifier, with no email, no name, nothing about you. Your lists belong to that identifier, which only your browser or device knows: if you clear the data of the app, the lists can no longer be reached.
Signing in (email and password, or Google) is optional. It lets you find your lists on all your devices; the lists of the anonymous session are kept in your account.
What is stored, and where
- Your account: in Firebase Authentication, the identifier, and, once you sign in, your email address (with Google, also the name and picture of your Google account).
- Your lists: what you enter, nothing more. The things (name, description, category, place, quantity, value, notes, drawing or photo), the people you lend to or borrow from (the name, and the phone number, email address, notes and avatar you choose to add), the loans (what, to or from whom, the days lent, due and returned, notes, when you sent a reminder), the categories, the name, language and currency of each list, and your reminder settings. They are stored in your own private area of Cloud Firestore (Google Cloud, European Union region), readable by you only.
- Photos: a photo you take or pick is reduced on your device (512 pixels at most, WebP) before it is saved; svg drawings you pick are kept as they are. They are stored in Cloud Storage (Google Cloud, Belgium), readable by you only. A photo is not analysed or used for anything else.
- On your device: a copy of your lists, so the app works offline, the last 1 000 pictures of each list you took or looked at, and your settings.
- A daily sign of life: once a day, when you open the app, it tells the Prêt Track server that you used it: the day, the platform (web, android...), the version of the app, and how many lists, things, current loans and pictures you have (counts only, not their content). The server keeps this record for your identifier, nobody else can read it. It tells Tekartik how many people use the app, and will allow removing the data of anonymous sessions nobody uses any more: this page will say when and after how long, before it happens.
The people in your lists
The names and contact details you enter for the people you lend to are kept in your private area only. Prêt Track never contacts them. When you send a reminder, the app prepares the message and opens your SMS, mail or WhatsApp app, or the share sheet of your device, with it: you send it yourself, from that app, which then applies its own policy (for WhatsApp, the phone number is part of the link opened). Only enter what you need, and what the person would expect you to keep.
Services used
The app, its server, its database and its storage run on Firebase and Google Cloud, which process the technical data of each request (such as the IP address) to serve it, under the Firebase privacy and security terms. Google sign in goes through Google, under the Google privacy policy. No other service receives your data.
Who can see what
Nobody but you. Your lists, people, loans and photos are in your private area, the security rules of the database and of the storage only let your own account read and write them. Nothing is public and nothing is shared with other users.
Deleting your data
Deleting a thing, a person or a loan in the app deletes it from your private area too, a photo no longer used is deleted from the storage, and removing a list deletes everything in it, its photos included.
Settings → Account → Delete my account (Delete my data without an account) deletes everything: your lists, things, people, loans and photos, the daily record, then your account, and the copy this device keeps. You can also ask Tekartik through tekartik.com.
You may ask Tekartik for a copy of your data, or for its correction or deletion, at the same address, and you may complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Changes
This policy may change as the app evolves; the date above says when. The current version is always the one on this page. The use of the app is also governed by its terms of use.
